""Sports and the people's health have long been the focus of the (Communist) Party and the government. The event is a key part of our drive to mobilize all Chinese people to exercise and unite government employees,"" said State Councilor Yang Jing during the opening ceremony.

TOKYO, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition themed with people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan kicked off on Wednesday at the China Cultural Center in Tokyo.
The exhibition, titled ""The Civil Power Adidas Ultra Boost Bianche Grigie Uomo Scontate ,"" showed nearly 100 pictures featuring key historical moments on Sino-Japanese people-to-people exchanges and the friendship between the two peoples.
Guo Yan, minister at Chinese Embassy in Japan, said at the opening ceremony that people-to-people exchanges have always been a driving force for development of bilateral relations between China and Japan.
She called upon peoples of the two countries to have more active and extensive communications and make contribution to the improvement and development of bilateral ties.
Yukio Hatoyama, former prime minister of Japan, said that joint efforts of insightful people of the two countries were indispensable to the normalization of bilateral ties.
He said that he hopes viewers of the exhibition Uomo Adidas Ultra Boost Laceless Nere Scontate , especially Japanese viewers, could have a deeper understanding of the fruits and importance of people-to-people exchanges and taking this as an opportunity to further extend the friendship between the two nations.

MADRID, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Spain's consumer prices fell by 0.7 percent in March, compared with a year earlier, figures published Tuesday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE) showed.
The INE reported that March inflation rate is 0.4 percent higher than that of February when prices fell by 1.1 percent on a year-on-year basis. This variation was due to prices of fuel, organized trips and food and vegetables.

NEW DELHI， April 20 (Xinhua) -- With some parts of the country reeling under drought， India's central government on Wednesday asked the state governments to be prepared and find a long-term solution to tackle the natural calamity.
